Ferida aberta
O tema da Guerra das Malvinas voltou à toda na Argentina. Enquanto se aproxima o aniversário dos 30 anos da guerra, vencida pelos britânicos, o governo voltou a reivindicar com veemência o arquipélago.
Há uma diferença enorme entre o que pensa a população e o governo. Felizmente, entre os adultos mais maduros, principalmente os que têm recordações da guerra, voltar a reclamar as ilhas é uma brincadeira perigosa. Também têm consciência de que a presidente usa a questão para angariar apoio, não muito diferente do que fez o general Leopoldo Galtieri em 1982, quando ordenou invadir as Malvinas.
Entre os mais jovens, sente-se indiferença. Para eles, há mais coisas com que se preocupar na Argentina atualmente, como emprego, economia, enfim, suas perspectivas de futuro.
Mas a reivindicação histórica por esse território ainda toca o coração de muitos, que cresceram ouvindo o discurso “las Malvinas son nuestras”. Para estes, a fala do chanceler Hector Timermam em Nova York, na sexta-feira, ao apresentar uma queixa contra o Reino Unido na ONU, foi convincente e corajosa.
O ministro se preparou bem. Levou slides e mapas para mostrar o que considera um avanço militar dos ingleses no Atlântico Sul. Lembrou que Londres está muito distante desse centro de operações e que os argentinos foram expulsos das ilhas em 1833, o que é correto e indiscutível.
Porém, Timermam forçou a barra em vários momentos. Disse que, por meio da ocupação das Malvinas, os ingleses teriam controle das costas da África e da América do Sul, e que seriam um perigo à paz no continente porque teriam capacidade de atingir com armas nucleares até mesmo o sul do Brasil…
O chanceler fez pouco do princípio de autodeterminação, argumento quase impossível de rebater que usam tanto os britânicos como os “kelpers” (nascidos das ilhas) para reafirmarem que querem que o status do local _o de um território britânico de ultramar – permaneça o mesmo. Disse que isso estava sendo superestimado, e que a população não passaria de 2.500 habitantes – o que não é correto, segundo o último censo das Falklands, são mais de 3.200.
É improvável que a batalha verbal do governo argentino contra os ingleses surta efeitos concretos. Mas a disputa expõe aspectos da cultura política local interessantes de se observar. É difícil entender a Argentina sem desvendar essa fixação por um arquipélago isolado, frio e que pouquíssimos argentinos conhecem de verdade.
Daqui até o aniversário de 30 anos da guerra, dia 2 de abril, muita coisa será dita e os ânimos tendem a acirrar-se. Melhor seria que essa ferida se fechasse de uma vez e que a paz predominasse. Resta observar.

What you said made a lot of sense. But, think about this, what if you added a little content? I mean, I dont want to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something to maybe get peoples attention? Just like a video or a picture or two to get people excited about what youve got to say. In my opinion, it would make your blog come to life a little bit.
