Desde que cheguei à Argentina me impressiono com algumas coisas típicas da televisão local. Por exemplo, no Brasil, como todos sabem, no domingo à noite, o tempo é quase todo dedicado ao futebol. São compactos de jogos, shows de gols, programas de comentários sobre as partidas. Quem não gosta do esporte é condenado ao “Fantástico” (que também mostra um pouco de futebol) ou a televisão a cabo.

Aqui não é assim. Praticamente não existe programas específicos, limitados aos canais de cabo dedicados a esportes. O grande assunto do domingo à noite é outra paixão argentina atávica: a política. São mesas-redondas, debates, entrevistas. Atualmente, enfrentam-se pela audiência nesse nobre horário dois progrmas. Um é o “6,7,8”, dedicado a “analisar” a cobertura do governo feita pelos grandes meios. Na prática, é uma atração destinada a malhar o grupo Clarín, inimigo do governo. Basta com dizer que o show é transmitido pela TV Pública e pago pelo dinheiro dos impostos dos argentinos. O outro é o já bastante mencionado aqui show político de Jorge Lanata, “Periodismo para Todos”, que traz denúncias de corrupção do governo misturadas a esquetes cômicos, com imitações de figuras do governo. A diferença de audiência é profunda. Enquanto o “6,7,8” não alcança nem 3 pontos de Ibope, o programa de Lanata arrasa com 20 e até 30 em noites de grandes denúncias.

Ontem, o governo jogou uma cartada importante para destronar Lanata. Manejou os horários das partidas de futebol para que, todos os domingos, fossem transmitidos jogos dos times de maior torcida no país, Boca Juniors e River Plate. Mas o governo não se importa com torcedores, seu principal objetivo era, de alguma forma, calar o “gordo golpista”, como se referem a Lanata, abafar as denúncias que a cada semana envolvem o governo, e deixar de dar Ibope a suas hilárias imitações de membros do governo, como o chanceler Hector Timerman _que virou Timerpunk_, o próprio Néstor, e outras figuras, como o papa Francisco, que aparece fazendo milagres como ensinar o prefeito Mauricio Macri a falar direito.

Na noite de ontem, Lanata saiu do palco em êxtase. Logrou, nada menos, que bater em rating o futebol, que exibiu a derrota do Boca Juniors por goleada, 4 a 0. Parece que o futebol passará a ser comum nas noites de domingo dos argentinos, pelo menos enquanto essa guerra continuar. Pobres dos torcedores, obrigados a mudar seus costumes e criar meios alternativos para irem aos jogos. O mais triste é ver que o governo se preocupa mais com a audiência do que com a segurança do público, dos jogadores e dos funcionários dos estádios, que não têm como voltar para casa de madrugada.
