Foram quatro longos meses de vazio. Sem Jorge Lanata, o jornalismo argentino esteve pouco provocativo, sonolento, sem graça. Sentindo o baque da disputa com o governo, que entre outras coisas os afoga economicamente com a retirada de publcidade, os jornais independentes não conseguem manter grandes linhas de reportagem, não investigam os escandalosos casos de corrupção que pipocam no país, não atraem o leitor com pautas bem sacadas. Tudo isso agravado pelo fator Bergoglio. Depois da eleição do papa argentino, toda a imprensa local se juntou num oba-oba comum, ninguém critica o religioso, todos comemoram sua origem e seus atos. Decidiu-se, como uma espécie de consenso, não investigar mais seu passado durante a ditadura. Cobre-se cada passo, cada sermão com grande espalhafato. Pelos jornais argentinos, impossível perceber a gravidade da ameaça norte-coreana, a crise europeia, as perspectivas da América Latina após morte de Chávez e tantos outros assuntos. O noticiário internacional é abafado pelas novelinhas políticas cotidianas.

É nesse cenário que o vaidoso, sarcástico e habilidoso jornalista volta ao ar com seu “Periodismo para Todos”. O programa se despediu para um período de férias em dezembro do ano passado. De lá para cá, muita coisa aconteceu na Argentina e no mundo. Se quiser recuperar todos os assuntos perdidos, terá de falar da tragédia em La Plata, do referendo das Malvinas, do uso político de Cristina da imagem do papa, das declarações polêmicas de Mujica. O show político, porém, promete começar lançando um novo assunto na agenda: para onde vai o dinheiro dos políticos. Segundo Lanata, foi possível traçar a rota de verbas públcias desviadas e quem se deve responsabiliza por isso. Nesse domingo, a partir das 22h, será possível acompanhar, pelo canal Trece (ao vivo na internet www.eltrecetv.com.ar).

Lanata conversou com a Folha, dias antes de voltar ao cenário. Contou que um dos eixos para expor os problemas da Argentina hoje será compara-la com o Brasil. “É um país com problemas como o nosso, com muita desigualdade, mas que soube aproveitar oportunidades nos últimos 10 anos e agora estamos vendo o resultado. Tirar as pessoas da miséria foi um grande passo. O fato de os ricos investirem no país e não saírem dele com seu dinheiro é outro exemplo”, comenta, entre uma baforada e outra dos cigarros que desistiu de largar, mesmo após enfáticas recomendações médicas.

Um dos próximos programas abordará aspectos do Brasil moderno: a questão da exploração do petróleo, a participação das estatais na economia e a recuperação das favelas. “São apenas exemplos de experiências bem sucedidas.”

Nesta nova temporada, o programa apostará ainda mais no humor. Celebrizado pelas excelentes imitações de Cristina Kirchner por meio da atriz Fatima Flores, o show agora trará outros personagens, haverá imitações de Néstor, do papa e de outros personagens políticos. Lanata conta que há muito medo entre os atores para encarar o trabalho. “Há muito medo na classe artística, assim como entre jornalistas e empresários. Todos temem ser investigados, há uma pressão silenciosa”, conta.

Sobre o novo papa, Lanata opina que é um homem inteligente, mas que não foi “nem um valente, nem um entregador”, e que aqueles que o atacam com fim político veem apenas parte do quadro. Nas últimas semanas, Lanata atacou duramente o jornalista Horacio Verbitsky, ex-montonero e atual assessor de Cristina. Verbitsky é praticamente a única voz hoje na Argentina de um intelectual que enfrenta e expõe o papa. A coluna de Lanata no “Clarín” foi mordaz e levantou polêmica. Isolado, Verbitsky tem preferido o silêncio. “Estou cansado dessa geração dos anos 70. Por que mentiram tanto? Por que diziam que queriam a democracia quando só queriam o poder? Acho escandaloso como se aferraram a ele e adaptaram os fatos para seu próprio proveito?”, diz Lanata.

Lanata está longe de ser uma unanimidade. Comete erros, é excessivamente vaidoso. Porém é uma voz necessária num meio apático, pouco conflitivo, como é o jornalismo argentino hoje. Com tantos jornais e meios, é o único a pegar um avião e ir a uma província distante, enfrentando gente encapuzada e pressões, para denunciar um caso de corrupção ou enriquecimento ilícito. Com todos seus problemas, ainda assim expõe a falta de vitalidade do jornalismo argentino. Além disso, é engraçado, criativo e sagaz. Seu retorno é mais do que benvindo.
