Sua especialidade é o direito criminal e sua “tese” é a de que um crime se revela nos detalhes. Entre seus alunos na atual temporada, está Gonzalo (Alberto Amman), um arrogante jovem talento que se diverte armando ciladas retóricas para o mestre.
Eis que, no meio de uma das aulas, um brutal assassinato ocorre nas ruas. Uma jovem que trabalhava no café em frente é morta, e o assassino deixa uma mensagem: “Morte a mulheres como ela”. Roberto se envolve com o caso. Um dos primeiros a chegar na cena do crime, repara, justamente, em seus detalhes, a corrente com uma borboleta, o modo como foi asfixiada, a violência da morte. Alguns deles vão lhe dando a sensação de que seu assassinato é mais do que um crime sangrento, compõe um enigma no qual seu aluno Gonzalo é mais do que peça-chave.
