Agustín (Viggo Mortensen) é um médico pediatra bem-sucedido acuado pelo casamento e a vida na cidade grande. Sua mulher, Claudia (Soledad Villamil), quer adotar um bebê, mas ele não está totalmente seguro e a ideia o aflige.

Acuado, vê na visita do irmão gêmeo um modo de escapar à sua penúria. Pedro (também interpretado por Viggo) leva uma vida muito diferente. Homem rude, continuou vivendo no Delta do Tigre, onde ambos passaram a infância. Pedro está doente e vai morrer. Agustín resolve precipitar a situação, provoca a morte do irmão e assume sua identidade.

Dias depois, entra na pele do irmão e vai para as ilhas. Ali, encontra-se com o ambiente duro no qual Pedro sobrevivia e com os crimes nos quais se envolvera. As ilhas são um protagonista importante da produção. As cores das luzes do inverno, a degradação de um estilo de vida que já foi romântico e hoje flerta com a transgressão, homens, mulheres e o sexo embrutecidos pelo ambiente.

O filme dialoga com algumas referências literárias, como o conto “Los Desterrados”, de Horacio Quiroga (1879-1937), publicado em 1925 e que conta a história de dois desterrados que buscam voltar à terra natal e enfrentam a natureza de uma forma agressiva e viva.

“Todos Tenemos un Plan” é dirigido por Ana Piterbarg e tem como produtores a mesma equipe do premiado “O Segredo de Seus Olhos”. Mortensen destaca-se por sua atuação encarnando os dois principais personagens. O ator vem também de participar do elenco de “On the Road”, de Walter Salles. Villamil ficou famosa por contracenar com Ricardo Darín nos dramas românticos de Campanella (“El Mismo Amor, la Misma Lluvia” e “O Segredo de Seus Olhos”). Exibido em festivais europeus e em cartaz em Buenos Aires, “Todos Tenemos un Plan” vai disputar a preferência dos argentinos para tentar obter uma vaga na corrida pelo Oscar de filme estrangeiro. O filme ainda não tem data de estreia no Brasil, mas vale ficar de olho.
