Apesar da punição aos policiais criminosos, e das desculpas públicas formuladas pelas autoridades provinciais, o vídeo apenas evidenciou uma situação que todos sabem que é comum e ampla. A polícia das províncias comete abusos e atenta contra os direitos humanos diariamente. Só no ano passado, foram cerca de 200 mortes por conta de suas ações.

Ao jornal “El País”, María del Carmen Verdú, da Coordinadora contra la Represión Policial e Institucional, disse: “As torturas não são fatos que se podem atribuir a um louco solto ou à pouca preparação da polícia em matéria de direitos humanos.
