Mais do que de confrontos emocionantes, resultados e troféus, o futebol argentino parece viver de seus personagens excêntricos e estelares. O noticiário ganha mais brilho, e os torcedores discutem de modo mais apaixonado se o assunto é a última travessura de Carlos Tevez, a glória de Kun Agüero na Inglaterra, a despedida chorosa de Verón de seu querido Estudiantes ou as sempre bombásticas declarações de Maradona em qualquer lugar do planeta.

Nesta semana, foi a vez de dois protagonistas ganharem a cena na Argentina. O primeiro foi Juan Román Riquelme. Terminado o jogo contra o Corinthians pela Libertadores, na última quarta-feira, o maior ídolo do Boca Juniors desde Diego Armando Maradona disse que deixaria o clube.

Bastou isso para que a imprensa esportiva praticamente esquecesse que o título do torneio havia sido ganho por uma equipe brasileira, o espaço foi tomado por Riquelme e suas façanhas no futebol. Seu temperamento de dono do time, capitão severo e dedicado, assim como explosivo, é celebrado por “bosteros” (torcedores do Boca) e pelos argentinos de um modo geral. No caso desse afastamento, por suas palavras enigmáticas, gerou-se um clima de suspense e especulações. Não se sabe ao certo porque Riquelme tomou essa decisão, apesar de já ter 34 anos e ter brilhado o suficiente em sua carreira. Estima-se que seja problemas com o técnico ou com dirigentes. E as dúvidas já dão espaço suficiente para longas discussões de mesas-redondas, redes virtuais e sociais. Virou a novela da semana.

O outro personagem foi Marcelo Bielsa. Como se não bastasse acumular episódios de excessos e brilhantismos, que lhe deram o apelido de “el Loco” por parte da torcida, o agora ex-técnico do Athletic de Bilbao desta vez ganhou os títulos por um surto de violência contra o responsável pelas obras no clube basco.

Bielsa se autodenunciou à polícia, depois deu entrevista à imprensa comentando sua atitude: “eu atuei como um selvagem”. O clube não o respaldou e, na tarde de hoje, o técnico anunciou sua demissão.

Mais do que estrelas do futebol, os ídolos do futebol argentino têm algo de cinematográfico. São galãs geniais, intempestivos, e quanto mais extravagantes forem suas declarações, mais conquistam o carinho da torcida. Num ambiente assim, é fácil entender porque Leonel Messi e sua homogeneidade de comportamento, sua mansidão, não fazem sucesso em seu país-natal.
