Os jovens são o centro das atenções na reta final da eleição mexicana, que ocorre no domingo. Não apenas pela originalidade e o colorido de seu movimento, mas porque a matemática eleitoral pode mudar por causa deles. Num país de 80 milhões de eleitores, mas cujo voto não é obrigatório, a assistência às últimas votações têm sido de, no máximo, 50%. Analistas confiam que, se mais jovens decidirem sair a votar, o candidato do PRI, Enrique Peña Nieto, pode não ter a vitória tão fácil.
O movimento “Yo Soy 132” nasceu em uma manifestação contra o priísta, que consideram um produto da Televisa, a maior emissora de TV do país. Aos poucos, o grupo foi elaborando mais sua proposta. Diferentemente dos “indignados” espanhóis, que pedem emprego diante do alto nível de desocupação da Espanha, os chamados “enojados” (bravos) mexicanos têm reivindicações muito mais sofisticadas. Pedem a democratização dos meios de comunicação, o respeito à diversidade sexual, o fim da guerra ao narcotráfico e das mortes de jornalistas, o respeito aos direitos dos indígenas e o acesso à cultura.
Estudantes de universidades grandes e importantes, filhos de uma classe média e média alta bem educada, têm repertório e formação. Evocam o passado de lutas, repressões, massacres e levantes do México, como no tocante vídeo abaixo. O villismo, o zapatismo, o vasconcelismo, o massacre de Tlatelolco, os presos políticos, as fraudes eleitorais, as crises econômicas desembocam em seus anseios nos dias de hoje, na indignação pela desigualdade e pelos 50 mil mortos da guerra contra o narcotráfico.
Ainda que com poder limitado de mudar a eleição, os jovens do “Yo Soy 132” hoje sonham com mudar o mundo, levam uma mensagem à sociedade e impõem uma agenda aos candidatos. Quem quiser governar de aqui em diante terá de levar sua voz em consideração.
