A relação entre Buenos Aires e a literatura policial é antiga. Dos anos 50 do século passado aos 80 esteve em grande forma e recebeu diversas influências. Primeiro, da vertente mais clássica, de Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), Conan Doyle (1859-1930) e G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936), por quem Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) era apaixonado.

Depois, veio a onda de admiradores da literatura “noir”, de Dashiell Hammett (1894-1961). E toda uma geração de autores argentinos passou a usar sua estrutura e sua forma para caracterizar a sociedade argentina e o modo como se estruturam as relações humanas. Os encantos de Buenos Aires logo se prestaram às descrições de uma cidade enigmática e cheia de sombras, segredos e mistérios.

Borges terá sido seu herdeiro mais célebre, mas não só. Também o escritor e militante montonero Rodolfo Walsh (1927-1977) bebeu nessa fonte. Dele, um bom exemplo está em “Variações em Vermelho”, que a editora 34 lançou há pouco tempo no Brasil. Também estão nessa lista Osvaldo Soriano, Juan Martini, Juan Sasturian e outros. Em “La Pesquisa”, o sensacional Juan Jose Saer (1937-2005) conta a história de um serial killer que atua em Paris em um abafado verão de sua Santa Fe natal. Walsh também usa elementos da ficção policial no seu clássico “Operação Massacre”, lançado no Brasil pela Companhia das Letras. Entre os mais contemporâneos, Ricardo Piglia é o principal guardião deste legado. Seu “Alvo Noturno”, também recentemente editado aí pela Cia, não deve nada a essa tradição.

Pois Buenos Aires celebrará a partir de amanhã essa sua relação com a literatura policial através do BAN! – Buenos Aires Negra (www.buenosairesnegra.wordpress.com), que se realiza até dia 17 de junho, reunindo escritores, juristas, advogados, médicos legistas, em palestras e simulações de julgamentos teatralizadas. Haverá, ainda, sessões de cinema com filmes baseados em obras do gênero, tours por roteiros na cidade criados a partir das tramas de livros, e depoimentos de criminosos que já tenham cumprido pena.

“Buenos Aires se presta muito a esse tipo de romance. Pela estrutura da cidade, que tem um plano organizado, mas uma dinâmica de vida que foge ao padrão desenhado, por sua bela arquitetura, pela imaginação de seus habitantes. E também porque a vida política aqui é como uma novela, cheia de intrigas”, diz Ernesto Mallo, também escritor e organizador do evento, ao blog. “A literatura policial é uma das maneiras mais eficientes de retratar uma realidade social, porque pode fugir do testemunho direto, dizer o que não se diz por meio dos jornais e dos noticiários”.

Entre os convidados estão os escritores Pablo de Santis, Federico Andahazi, Guillermo Martínez e Juan Sasturian e o cineasta Adrián Caetano. Ao todo, serão 80 participantes, de países como Espanha, França, México, Peru, Uruguai e, obviamente, Argentina.

Junto ao festival Azabache, que acontece em Mar del Plata, o BAN! posiciona Buenos Aires no mapa da produção desse gênero. Instala-se na capital no começo de um inverno rigoroso em que o ruído dos panelaços vem se impondo nas ruas. Como vai se relacionar com o ambiente social e político que se vive por aqui atualmente é o que veremos nos próximos dias.
