A última sessão de Freud
A Argentina é o país latino-americano mais fanático pela psicanálise. E a avenida Corrientes, a via mais teatral da cidade. A junção desses dois elementos deu lugar a um dos atuais êxitos de público e crítica em Buenos Aires. Em cartaz há 5 meses no Multiteatro, um dos vários que se enfileiram nessa avenida, está “A Última Sessão de Freud”, a mais recente montagem do veterano encenador argentino Daniel Veronese, baseada em texto do norte-americano Mak Saint German.
Protagonizada por atores conhecidos do público do teatro e da TV locais, a peça constrói um imaginário encontro entre o pai da psicanálise, Sigmund Freud, e o escritor e acadêmico católico britânico C.S. Lewis, autor de “As Crônicas de Nárnia” e amigo de Tolkien.
Lewis (Luis Machín) visita Freud (Jorge Suarez) em Londres, em 1939, às vésperas da Segunda Guerra Mundial. A capital britânica está apreensiva e a rádio não para de falar do assunto. Freud está doente, com câncer, às vésperas da morte. Lewis, mais jovem, chega para interpelá-lo sobre a existência de Deus.
Verborrágica, de acordo com a tradição teatral argentina, a peça se constrói sobre um inteligente diálogo no qual ambos logram armar ciladas para as crenças do outro. Lewis crê em Deus, enquanto Freud o considera “uma fantasia infantil”. No momento em que Freud começa a tossir sangue, o público sente um incômodo que faz com os argumentos de ambos ganhem relevância e se tornem mais cortantes.
O cenário é simples, reconstruído a partir do famoso escritório de Freud, com sua escrivaninha e sua coleção de objetos. No centro da cena, um rádio, que dá as notícias do conflito que se avizinha. Sexo, amor, religião são os assuntos sobre os quais debatem, num clima de respeito intelectual, apesar da total discordância, que vai sendo diluída ao final.
A peça já foi montada em Londres, Madri, Toquio, Estocolmo. Vê-la em Buenos Aires, porém, ajuda a entender a relação dos argentinos com a psicanálise, além de ser um ótimo programa na sempre charmosa e romântica avenida Corrientes. Mais informações em multiteatro.com.ar.
