“El Campo”, primeiro longa de ficção do argentino Hernán Belón, revive o ambiente de angústia sufocada dos filmes de Roman Polanski, ao mesmo tempo que evoca os dramas enigmáticos de M. Night Shyamalan.

Em cartaz em Buenos Aires, o filme, apresentado no último Festival de Veneza, traz Leonardo Sbaraglia (“Dinheiro Queimado”) e Dolores Fonzi (“Aura”) no papel de um casal que se muda da cidade para uma velha casa no campo, numa tentativa de resgatar a felicidade conjugal, com a filha pequena.

Porém, enquanto ele se entrega de corpo e alma a levantar o lugar, que precisa de vários reparos, e a projetos para a vida familiar futura, ela começa a se angustiar profundamente. Começa com o celular sem sinal, mas se agrava para questões existenciais às quais não pode responder. O encontro com uma velha caseira, misto de bruxa e sábia, a leva ao limite da desesperação.

O filme traz o campo argentino como cenário romântico, mas com um potencial assustador que está no olhar dos animais, nos modos da gente comum do lugar, na delicadeza de uma fruta que está para ser colhida.

“O Campo” é mais um exemplo de como o cinema argentino sabe tratar relações amorosas e dramas íntimos de forma muito peculiar e sofisticada.
