Morreu hoje o cartunista Carlos Loiseau, conhecido como Caloi, criador do personagem que aparece na tira acima. Clemente, esse ser amarelinho, sem braços, que parece amarrado em tiras negras e comete muitos erros ao falar, era um crítico ácido da sociedade argentina, portenha para ser mais específica, e habitava as páginas do jornal “Clarín” desde 1968.

Nascido em Salta, Caloi tinha 63 anos e, apesar de ser fanático pelo River Plate, fez de seu personagem mais famoso um torcedor apaixonado do clube rival, o Boca Juniors. Durante as Copas do Mundo, Clemente era um grande entusiasta da seleção argentina. No Mundial de 1978, fez uma campanha a favor do papel picado nos estádios, indo em contra da orientação de sisudos organizadores, isso em plena ditadura militar.

Autor de 40 livros, Caloi foi também autor do filme “Ánima Buenos Aires”, em cartaz na Argentina e que é seu trabalho mais recente, inédito no Brasil.

Fiel à tradição dos quadrinistas argentinos, Caloi tinha um humor delicado e uma leveza de linguagem que soariam piegas para os padrões brasileiros, mas que funcionavam muito bem na melancólica e poética cultura local. O Brasil não chegou a conhece-lo bem, uma pena.
