Viagem à terra do petróleo

Saiu hoje no caderno Mundo reportagem que fiz nesta semana em Chubut, na Patagônia, sobre a “terra do petróleo” (www1.folha.uol.com.br/fsp/mundo/41243-cidade-da-ypf-comemora-expropriacao.shtml, para assinantes).

Comodoro Rivadavia foi o primeiro lugar na Argentina onde se encontrou petróleo, em 1907. Hoje, a cidade vive a nostalgia do tempo em que a petroleira YPF era estatal e provia quase tudo a seus orgulhosos trabalhadores. Também convive com os problemas sociais causados pelas demissões em massa que ocorreram quando a empresa passou para as mãos da iniciativa privada, nos anos 90.

Hoje, a cidade, que ainda vive do petróleo, está tomada por uma grande expectativa com relação à estatização da empresa. Viajar até lá foi importante para entender o tão contestado argumento argentino que defende a medida do governo. Difícil encontrar, entre os habitantes entrevistados, alguém que fosse contra a lei de expropriação.

Para compreender melhor como vivem as províncias petroleiras, uma dica é o novo, e ainda inédito no Brasil, filme do cineasta e deputado Fernando “Pino” Solanas, “Oro Negro”, que pode ser visto na íntegra também via Youtube.

Solanas, realizador de clássicos latino-americanos como “Tango: Exílio de Gardel” e “A Nuvem”, aqui mergulha no universo dos homens e mulheres do petróleo, descendentes dos primeiros exploradores da região. O cineasta, que é um crítico do governo de Cristina Kirchner, defende a estatização da YPF e fez os discursos mais entusiastas sobre o tema nas últimas semanas de discussão no Congresso.

I have an understanding of what you are saying, but you just appear to have forgotten about that there are some other folks inside the world who see this matter for what it definitely is and may possibly not agree with you.
