O planeta pode ter ficado embasbacado com o repentino e ousado anúncio de expropriação de 51% da petroleira YPF por parte do governo da presidente Cristina Kirchner. Em vários países, a reação foi vista como autoritária e negativa, por parte de políticos, imprensa e opinião pública.

Mas a Argentina é um país particular, e o que muita gente no exterior não imagina, é que o clima local é de pura euforia pela “retomada” (como diz o governo) da empresa, que estava nas mãos dos espanhóis da Repsol.

Uma pesquisa realizada pelo instituto Poliarquía e divulgada hoje pelo jornal “La Nación” apenas confirma isso. Segundo os números, 62% dos argentinos aprovam a nacionalização da YPF. Entre os entrevistados, 31% rechaçam a ideia, e apenas 7% se abstém de opinar.

De fato, parece haver muito mais apoio à medida com relação ao petróleo do que a reivindicação das ilhas Malvinas, outra ofensiva “anti-imperialista” de Cristina que dividiu muito mais a população.

Curiosamente, a pesquisa revela, também, que um grande número de ouvidos é consciente de que a decisão de Cristina terá um impacto negativo fora da Argentina, e, aparentemente, não se importa muito com isso. À pergunta: “Como você acha que será afetada a imagem do país no exterior?”, responderam que “negativamente” 47% dos entrevistados, contra 22% que votaram em “favoravelmente”, 18% em “não afetará” e 13% de indecisos.

Quase metade dos entrevistados (49%), ainda, considera que a lei terá um impacto positivo na economia do país, enquanto 31% crê que será negativo. Apenas 9% acha que não terá nenhum impacto.

O projeto de lei, enviado ao Congresso na semana passada, deve ser aprovado na próxima quarta-feira, virando lei em meados de maio.
