Festa do livro em Buenos Aires

Começa hoje a maior festa literária argentina. A 38a edição da Feria del Libro de Buenos Aires reunirá mais de 1.500 expositores e espera receber 1,2 milhão de visitantes, no pavilhão da sociedade Rural, no bairro de Palermo. Serão 19 dias, com uma programação cultural cheia de atrações internacionais.

O argentino Luis Gusmán abre o evento nesta noite. Ao longo das próximas semanas, haverá debates e palestras com alguns nomes de destaque das letras internacionais. Entre eles, o mexicano Carlos Fuentes, o israelense David Grossman, o francês Daniel Pennac, o uruguaio Eduardo Galeano e o argentino-canadense Alberto Manguel.

O rico filão de livros sobre política estará bem representado, com alguns nomes do primeiro escalão do governo e da oposição argentinas apresentando obras, incluindo o vice-presidente da nação, Amado Boudou.

A grande polêmica, porém, é a recente norma do governo que trava a entrada de livros importados no país. O governo argentino tem tentado diminuir as importações, e por isso estabeleceu que a compra de obras estranegiras deve passar por um tortuoso e lento processo de aprovação. Isso prejudica tanto grandes quanto pequenas editoras, uma vez que mais de 70% dos livros comercializados no país são impressos fora dele. Entre os mais prejudicados estão os espanhóis, que respondem pela maioria das obras que chegam ao país. A Federação dos Grêmios de Editores da Espanha já anunciou que não virá ao evento.

A organizadora da feira, Gabriela Adamo, diz que a norma ainda não impacta o mercado editorial argentino. “É difícil medir o quanto vai afetar. Por enquanto, está tudo normal e foi fácil organizar a feira. Mas se as medidas realmente se impuserem, num futuro próximo teremos problemas”, conta à Folha.
