Os meninos do México

Um garoto aponta uma arma durante um assalto. Outro acorda e, fumando, vê as notícias de um país violento pelo jornal e pela TV. Depois, aparece contando dólares e colocando numa maleta. Nas ruas, confusão causada por manifestantes-mirins. Uma perseguição de policiais, um grupo de coyotes que atravessa a fronteira, uma cidade em convulsão. Tudo protagonizado por crianças de sete a dez anos.

Esse vídeo incômodo está causando imensa repercussão no México e já teve mais de 10 milhões de visitas no Youtube. Trata-se da produção de um movimento social chamado Nuestro México del Futuro, que decidiu, assim, passar um recado ao grupo de candidatos presidenciais que disputa eleição no país no próximo dia 1 de julho.

O México atravessa um período de intensa violência desde que, em 2006, o presidente Felipe Calderón (PAN) iniciou uma guerra ao narcotráfico que já deixou mais de 50 mil mortos.

No vídeo, as crianças dão seu recado aos candidatos. “Se este é o futuro que me espera, não o quero. Dona Josefina, Don Andrés Manuel, Don Enrique, Don Gabriel: acabou o tempo. O México já tocou o fundo. Só vão disputar a cadeira presidencial ou vão mudar o futuro do nosso país?”.

Houve forte repercussão de grupos e pessoas que acharam abusivo colocar armas e cigarros nas mãos de crianças e faze-las passar por essas situações. Os autores do vídeo, porém, reforçaram que apenas estavam dando voz a preocupação de milhares de mexicanos neste ano eleitoral.
