Depois, surpreendentemente, esqueceria o episódio por muitos anos. Até que um dia, teve a cena de volta em sua cabeça. “Se você se esquece de algo por muito tempo, e de repente se lembra, precisa dar um signficado para aquilo. Por isso, escrevi o romance”.
O livro se passa em dois momentos. Na ditadura e nos dias de hoje, quando a mesma casa é novamente invadida. A história se passa em La Plata, cidade signficativa para o país no que diz respeito a direitos humanos. Ali viveram Hebe de Bonafini, líder das Mães da Praça de Maio, Estela de Carlotto, das Avós da Praça de Maio, e a própria presidente, Cristina Kirchner.
