Roger Waters, onde pensa que vai com esses dólares?

Era para ser tudo festa na maratona de nove shows (sim, nove, é um record na carreira do  artista) que Roger Waters fará na Argentina a partir de hoje, no estádio do River Plate, em Buenos Aires.

As entradas para o espetáculo, uma ópera rock inspirada no clássico “The Wall”, estão esgotadas há meses e a espera por esse show é assunto presente na mídia quase que de forma ininterrupta.

Waters já está na Argentina, e gerando notícia. Primeiro, recuou com relação a uma declaração feita no Chile em que dizia que as Malvinas eram argentinas. A repercussão por aqui foi tão forte que o espírito combativo e eufórico dos argentinos deve tê-lo assustado. Agora, já diz que não foi bem isso o que disse e que um jornalista o havia interpretado mal. Mas a explicação não se sustenta. Há um vídeo, em alto e bom som, e a frase não está fora de contexto (veja abaixo). Sabe-se lá o que levou o velho roqueiro a dar marcha atrás.

Mas o mais curioso é que o ex-Pink Floyd está tendo problemas para descobrir como vai sair do país com a bolada que vai ganhar com a série de espetáculos. Calcula-se que deverá faturar mais de US$ 25 milhões. Porém, há uma restrição do governo com relação à “exportação” de moeda estrangeira.

Ontem, Waters se encontrou com a presidente Cristina Kirchner. Dizia-se que um dos principais temas da reunião seria esse. Waters pediria uma autorização especial de Cristina para sair com seu dinheiro sem enfrentar problemas ou pagar impostos. O que ela pediria em troca? Talvez que ele voltasse a afirmar com segurança que as Malvinas são mesmo argentinas?

Na sequência, esse encontro, que de rock’n’roll não teve nada, Waters ainda cumprimentou a líder das Avós da Praça de Maio, Estela de Carlotto, e Taty Almeida, de uma dissidência das Mães da Praça de Maio, a chamada Linha Fundadora.

Logo mais começam os concertos. A Argentina, que voltou a colocar na moda os anos 70, é o país perfeito para Roger Waters se apresentar nos dias de hoje. Agora, como ele vai sair com o dinheiro é o mistério a que jornalistas, fãs, gente de negócios (para quem a lei é aplicada sem ressalvas), opositores e apoiadores do kirchnerismo vão prestar atenção nos próximos dias.
