Homenagem a Garzón

O juiz espanhol Baltasar Garzón reapareceu diante das câmeras ontem, durante a abertura dos trabalhos do Congresso argentino. Foi homenageado pela presidente Cristina Kirchner e aplaudido de pé pelos presentes.

Garzón, famoso por investigar crimes de ditaduras latino-americanas, acaba de ser impedido pela justiça espanhola de exercer sua profissão por usar escutas ilegais para investigar os crimes do franquismo.

Na Argentina, mostrou-se com aspecto triste, resignado, e visivelmente emocionado com a homenagem. Ao lado dele estavam Hebe de Bonafini, líder das Mães da Praça de Maio, e Estela de Carlotto, das Avós da Praça de Maio.

Disse Cristina: “Parece que nos países desenvolvidos se pode processar os tiranos das republiquetas, mas sua tentativa de investigar a tragédia do franquismo é uma afronta à justiça universal.”

Na Argentina, Garzón é lembrado especialmente por ter colocado atrás das grades a Adolfo Scilingo, oficial da Marinha responsável por “voos da morte”, quando a repressão da ditadura militar (1976-1983) arremessava opositores no Rio da Prata.
