“Argentina, nos adote!”
Os moradores da remota região chilena de Aysén, no sul do Chile, já não sabem mais o que fazer para chamar a atenção do governo nacional. Há duas semanas, começaram a promover manifestações e cortes de ruas e estradas. O mais pitoresco entre os cartazes dizia: “Argentina, no adote!”.
Os habitantes de Aysén se sentem isolados, distantes de qualquer apoio da gestão do conservador Sebastián Piñera e resolveram fazer barulho. No Chile, nos últimos dias, os protestos dos “ayseños” dominam a imprensa e as conversas públicas. Imagens das estradas pegando fogo, caminhões parados sem poder levar víveres para a população, piquetes e repressão por parte dos “carabineros” são comuns nos noticiários televisivos.
Aysén fica a mais de 1.500 km de Santiago, a capital chilena, e tem cerca de 100 mil habitantes. Sua população enfrenta o custo de vida mais alto do país, pois lá tudo tem de vir de longe. Alimentos, combustível e produtos industrializados custam em média 40% mais do que nas principais cidades chilenas. Entre as reivindicações dos “ayseños” está um subsídio para esses itens, um aumento do salário mínimo local e uma universidade para os jovens da região.
Não é o primeiro problema que Piñera tem com populações de regiões extremas do país. As zonas de Calama y Magallanes também têm registrado distúrbios, que por sua vez começam a mobilizar passeatas e manifestações de solidariedade em Santiago.
Com os níveis de popularidade lá embaixo, e ainda com a macabra fama de ser um presidente pé-frio, por conta de calamidades naturais ocorridas ao longo de sua gestão, Piñera volta a enfrentar conflitos sociais, sem ter terminado de resolver o problema com os estudantes secundaristas, iniciado no ano passado.
Para os chilenos, que têm uma rivalidade histórica com os argentinos. A camiseta do manifestante pedindo para ser adotado pela Argentina tem no mínimo um sabor amargo.
